    New Design - Better Performance *Non-compensated, non-discounted review!*UPDATE: I ve had to remove a star due to blindingly incompetent assembly/design I found out today. The machine still works, but it won t if I can t find the patience to reinstall the entire front face (including bubble circle assembly) because NOTHING IS HOLDING IT ON. They do realize this product is made for kids and that they may, in fact, want to touch it if given the chance, right? I d understand if it were clipped in for easy access to cleaning, but there s no clip, no tension, no nothing making sure the face stays on!After seeing the other reviews photos, I felt I should post on the newer design I received. Photos don t do it justice so see end of the video for bubble output - it s impressive!Things you should know:- Buy an additional bottle immediately, as the first bottle WILL run out in a matter of about 5 minutes. It s a no-joke bubble machine! Thank goodness our local store had a huge bottle in the middle of winter or my kids would have been seriously ticked off.- As stated above...TONS of bubbles! So much so, I carpeted the floor of the kitchen in bath towels.- It isn t as tippy as the older version, but still something you want to keep out of reach of the kiddos. Top-mounted batteries are probably the cause, and, I m sure, the reason for the redesign with the heavier plastic on the bottom. I can t blame them, it wouldn t be pertinent to mount them on the bottom where they re susceptible to leakage. Speaking of...- It LEAKS! Not much, but it seems to be an unavoidable hazard. We aren t talking a bottle a minute but enough to necessitate protection underneath.- It can tip and not be irreparably damaged! As I say in the video, I ve been through my share of these over the years, other brands, that could not survive being tipped. If there was any solution in it, it would infiltrate the motor and render it unusable. This one takes it like a champ!Tip 1: If your bubble machine suddenly stops producing and is more spitting solution out, run water through it until almost all the bubbles dissipate. Then refill and it will work good as new. Sometimes dried solution clogs the prongs and solution can t adhere properly.Tip 2: If you re going to use an empty water or soda bottle for more solution, tape the unit down, or push into some clay/Play Doh on a plate to hold it in place, or you re going to end up with a tipped bubble machine.I rely heavily on real, unbiased reviews and am hoping to provide the same. Please let me know if this was helpful! 3Great For Subduing Creatures of the NightI bought this for my cat, Balthazar, because he's a special kind of obnoxious demon that is out for the taste of blood. Seriously, I try to play with other toys, like a dog rope, and this cat is placated with our tug of war sessions for roughly 3.7 seconds until he realizes that he can just bite down on my hand like he's in some National Geographic special and I'll let go of the rope immediately amidst my injured wildebeest screams. Toys that leave him happy and me uninjured are hard to find.At one point, my friend sent me a little tube of bubbles in a little gift package she put together for me, not knowing how that pink little tube with the happy donut on top might be what saves my life. I blew the bubbles in my apartment, because I'm a grown-up and can do what I want, and demon-cat was ecstatic that there were so many new little things to kill. He doesn't try to eat them or anything, he really just enjoys stabbing them in mid-air with his foot-daggers. He was jumping around like Michael Jordan back in his heyday. But it was like the little red dancing shoes from that traumatizing Hans Christian Andersen story that parents thought were cool to read to, like, seven-year-olds. I couldn't stop blowing bubbles, except instead of being compelled by magical forces, it was because when I tried to stop, the demon inside this cat would take over again and start biting me. It was a nightmare, because I would get lightheaded, and I'm sure damaged some brain cells, but only the bubbles appeased the violent creature of the night. I needed a way to produce bubbles, but retain the proper amount of oxygen needed to function to go to work to pay my rent to support this ungrateful freeloading demonic cat.Gazillion Bubbles Hurricane came to the rescue! You have to pour quite a bit in to get a long play, but luckily, I bought a 32 ounce bottle before buying this, thinking that the constant dizziness was worth avoiding extreme blood loss. I can stand on my feet without the room swaying and the creature from the depths of Hades itself is satiated with its need for bubbles. Definitely worth the money. 5AwfulThis thing broke 3x the first day but we were able to put it back together and thought it was fine. Cheaply made, but worth the headache to see the kids freak out over bubbles. But then we got it out the next day and it just wouldn't work at all. We replaced batteries and everything. No luck. Went to Wal-Mart and got one similar to this called monsoon and it works beautifully. Not worth the risk of getting a defective one like us. Which looks to be pretty likely. 1The kids really do like it but you need to put it on top ...The kids really do like it but you need to put it on top of a towel or something so that it doesn't dance in circles due to the vibrations from the motor. I am probably not going to get more Gazillion bubble solution since I think it would be far cheaper to make it at home. You can find all sorts of homemade bubble solution instructions online and it is up to you as to which recipe you want to use depending on how you want your bubbles to behave. Some solutions will cause the bubbles to have longer lives, some make them more colorful, some make bubbles within bubbles, some float better, etc. 4Short lifecycle and manufacturer used triangle security screws to prevent troubleshooting. Product discontinued by manufacture.Mine lasted all of two months. Requires 6 AA batteries. The Manufacturer has "discontinued" this product...for good reason, I'm guessing due to the many failures / short lifecycle. The manufacturer chose to use triangle security screws in an attempt to prevent owners from troubleshooting their systems. Not cool. TIP: Add 1 part food grade glycerine to 6 parts bubble mix for long lasting bubbles. On a windy day they will fly until out of sight without popping. 1Creates TONS of bubbles!!!!After initially getting the bubble machine out of the box I was a little underwhelmed. It's small and doesn't weigh much. After putting in the batteries and starting this bad boy up I was shocked at how many bubbles this little machine produced. We've been playing with this machine the entire week with no issues and my kiddo loves playing in the hurricane of bubbles. I'll update my review later if my mind changes but if you have kids who like bubbles - get this. You won't be disappointed.A few tips:1. The itty bitty bubble solution it comes with only lasts about 20 minutes. (We timed it) I recommend getting the Gazillion 2-liter bubble solution. That stuff makes the best bubbles. Nothing else can compare.2. Make sure not to over fill it. It's very easy to do. I do wish there was a way to hold more bubble fluid so I didn't have to refill every 10 minutes or so or at least a max line to show you when to stop pouring the bubble solution in. If you do fill it up too high it will leak.3. If your bubble wand stops working check to make sure it's appropriately attached to the motor. My toddler was messing with it and it didn't work. Turns out his little fingers lifted it off the thing that makes it spin. After I made sure it was attached correctly we had no more issues.UPDATE 6/10/15:We have been using this bubble maker daily (with the exception of the few times we've had rain) and it's working as if it was still brand new! This is also after about a dozen times it has fallen off our outdoor table. For some reason kids are drawn to it and feel the need to play with the bubble wand while it's spinning so I recommend keeping it high out of reach. I'm really surprised how well it's holding together after all the usage it has gotten so far. 5Worked once and not that many bubbles even thenIt broke after one use. The second time we tried it it didn't work. The first time it didn't make nearly as many bubbles as expected. My daughter who is 2 kept demanding the bubble machine and it got ugly pretty fast. Not only was it not worth one time but it really wasnt worth multiple temper tantrums! Update: im busy- arent most- with 3 kids a puppy health issues and a husband who works and i can't and i can't drive bc of health issues which is why i shop on amazon so much. I thought all items u had 90 days to return but apparently not so with this item bc im barely over a month. So a product that breaks after over use and didnt even work the way it was advertised the first time and bad customer service. 1Puts out a ton more bubbles than other similar models.Good stuff - puts out a lot more bubbles than many of the other similar models (that's because it uses 6 double AAs) and these things will drain the batteries if you don't turn them off after use and don't just leave it out in the elements for days on end (bubble crazed kids may forget). It has an actual switch to turn off and on - I think this may be better - a similar model I had just had a push bar at the top - which now no longer works. Remember to rinse these things out every use or every few uses if you don't want them gunked up with bubble juice and then the motor breaks. The other one I own is I think a gazillion bubbles with bubble guppies on it. I think also this model last longer - the bubble reservoir is larger. Great way to entertain the kids for an hour and get them running around the backyard. Just be prepared for how many batteries these stupid things go through and they don't even like slightly drained batteries. 5Very fun. We devised a simple way to increase the ...Very fun. We devised a simple way to increase the reservoir volume. We used a plastic coke bottle, drilled a pin hole in the cap and in the base, filled it with Gazillion bubble Solution and placed it upside down in the reservoir. Works great! 5First unit worked for over a year , second unit broke down within 3 uses!I have bought 2 of these in the past 2 years. The first unit which I bought in 2016 was amazing, I left it out on the patio in all weather and it actually worked fine for almost 2 years even when the switch became all rusty (I know I know...)... However it eventually went kaput and I bought the second unit a few months ago. We have only used it twice literally as the weather has been so humid and nasty with a gazillion mosquitoes. And unlike the first machine, I have kept this inside a weatherproof storage container and not only that, I have rinsed it out with each use. I just took it out today and it no longer works.. horrible! 1
