    2/2 Products Were Faulty - Do Not RecommendThe first product I received was faulty. The game would run for about 15 seconds before malfunctioning & powering off. I bought several packages of new AAA batteries to ensure batteries weren't the issue. I applied for & received a replacement a few days later. Unfortunately, the replacement was also faulty & malfunctioned as the original did. Overall a pretty annoying & inconvenient experience :( 1We have fun with young and older, often without even keeping score.We love this game! It arrived just as described. We play often with 4 to 6 people. Young and old enjoy it and we can play even when we only have half-hour or so. We usually start planning to play for half an hour but wind up playing for several hours because we are having so much fun. We rarely keep score, but rather we just pass around the game, using the timer, and have lots of laughs. 5Best "GAME NIGHT" game ever!This is a family favorite! We take it camping, on road trips, play with a bunch of other couples, my college student had played this for many years with all his friends and now our 9 year old joins in. The family that plays together, stays together! Buy it and enjoy! It's also a great gift! 5One of the best party games ever We've owned the original Catch Phrase for many years and we love the game but it was always so difficult to read the phrases in the tiny unlit window. Some family members own the second generation of the game and we loved that fact you could play without needed to use a flashlight. This newest version has a larger window, specific catagory options and a different sound effect. Easy to keep score and the phrases are very clear and large for simple reading. You can play by candlelight if need be. This is one of the best games ever made but I'm giving it four stars for needing a philips screwdriver to change the batteries, for the back light randomly going out during gameplay and for not having an on/off button.Highly recommended 4Fun party game for every ageThis a a fun and inexpensive little game. There are 5 categories and you can cycle through a ton of clue. The rules are pretty simple- get your team to say the word and pass to the other team. Which ever team is left with the device when time is up loses and the other team wins the point. First to 7 wins. Its a great party game and is great for large and small parties, you just need even numbers. I would definitely recommend. Also for adult parties it is fun to make the opposing team take a drink if they lose the point. 5Great game, too much pop culture to be long lastingThe unit itself is very nice, the buttons are large and the timer can be heard. The main draw back for me is how many pop culture and celebrity references were in this game. I was getting anywhere from 40-60% actors/actresses as the clues. While for some it's fun, it really doesn't allow you to "guess" the word very easily. If you don't know "Zoe Saldana" and any of the movies she's acted in, you literally have no chance at the clue. You can't even break that word down into two to try and guess.Overall I think most families who have older children would enjoy this game. I don't see anyone under 12 being able to play the game effectively. I've played Catch Phrase Jr for 10+ years and what I've found is while the clues are easier, you have a much more enjoyable game because everyone can participate (even my slow grandpa). This catch phrase was too difficult for our friends group (mid twenties males/females) which was surprising. 3More difficult than the originalVery disappointed, since the categories are similar to the original game that is what I was expecting, and its not. The package says "words and phrases," but most of the time it is a phrase. The first time I played it 1 every 15 is a word, the other 14 are whole phrases. The phrases are almost impossible for a child to guess. It would be OK if you are playing with all adults, but I was hoping this could be a family game. 2I love the digital Catch PhraseWe already owned a copy (ours is white and blue) and we wanted to get this one for a family member. Got to play it with them on Christmas. The only complaint I can come up with for this version is that the ticking sound is a little louder than it needs to be. But once you try to play Catch Phrase this way, you never want to go back to the paper version of the game. This keeps time and score while displaying your phrase to you, so it's everything you need. The batteries in mine last for a year or two with regular use, so hopefully this is no different. You can't turn the game off, it just shuts off by itself if no buttons are pressed for a while.For those who have never played this, the game itself is fast paced and fun. It is ideal as a party game or in larger groups. When one person starts he/she has a word or a phrase displayed on the little digital screen. Let's say it's "Living the Dream". The individual then has to try to get his/her teammates to guess and say out loud the phrase without saying any of the words, saying what they rhyme with, or gestures. With the exception of occasionally getting stuck, or accidentally saying a form of one of the words (like "to live) and having to start over with a new phrase, it is a quick game of verbal charades - in this example maybe you would tell people how many words and maybe getting them to guess "the opposite of dying?" and "what do you do when you sleep?" and hoping that they put it all together. But the fun of it is that you have to think on the spot and you never know where people's minds will go with any particular phrase. The entire time you play, a timer is going. You want your team to guess your phrase and pass the game to the next person in the circle (on the opposite team). They have their own phrase to try to get people to guess. You can look over their shoulder to make sure they don't accidentally cheat. You don't want the buzzer to go off in your hands, because that's a point for the other team, so people try to be as fast as they can.Since this is such a fun game to get people pumped and it can be played very quickly (for example, while people wait for more guests to arrive), we play it often and sometimes adapt to our own rules if there aren't the right number of players - like everybody guessing instead of having teams (again, just because it's fun), or playing "honest Catch Phrase" with just the two of us - where there is only one person per team, so obviously you have to trust them to do their best to get you to guess even though it is not, ultimately, in their best interest.My point is, if you like games, or even if you aren't sure if you are going to be big into board gaming and are just getting your first games - you should have this one on the shelf. There is no learning complicated rules and if one person isn't particularly good at it, they can often be teamed with those who understand how they think best, or just the stronger team that would win all the time if you didn't have someone to even it out ;-) 5Fun, Fast-Paced, Easy-To-Learn GameWe played this game once at a friend's home, and had to purchase one for ourselves. We have also given it as gifts to others. The game is self-contained within the disc, and you will need at least four people to play, since the game is played with teams. One button on the disc begins the timer, and a word or phrase appears in a small window. The person holding the game gives clues so that the other team member(s) can guess the word or phrase. If the timer runs out before a team guesses the correct answer, the other team scores a point. If a team guesses the word, the game is passed to a member of the opposing team while the timer is still running. This is a fast-paced, fun game, and is suitable for older teens to 100. Highly recommended and is currently very reasonably priced! 5"Oh! This is when a plane makes letters up in the air."Great game! Fun to play with multiple people, but also a nice diversion for just 2 players. A lot of laughs ensue from creative clue giving! The only downside is the repetition of the phrases. With only 5,000 pre-loaded phrases, repetition of phrases starts happening after a few hours of playing the game. Maybe a new version will come out where additional phrases could be downloaded? ...and the phrase is: Sky Writing 5
