    but not particularly dull, mirror halves and a white rubber ring that ...I initially would ve given this 4 stars, deducting a point because the mirror didn t fit my crib. There was no way to adjust or arrange the removable Velcro straps so the mirror wouldn t just hang. I deducted another point when my 9month old snapped the thing on half. He kept trying to rip the thing off his crib posts (probably because it was hanging loosely with the Velcro straps), and the thing snapped. Was remained was 2 not-sharp, but not particularly dull, mirror halves and a white rubber ring that was meant to be the protective mirror frame 3I loved this mirror for the first 5 months of having ...I loved this mirror for the first 5 months of having it. The rubber edge was pulled off and the tape was hanging off of it. I tried to clean it off as much as I could to prevent my son from eating it. Then this morning 8 months after purchasing it he was able to break it. I was under the assumption it was baby proof. The reason it is not a one star review is because it was great while it lasted. I do know they have a recall on one of their other items. So buyer beware. 2Greatest addition to the cribMirror is big and image is not dissorted. I never used the other side but the baby really enjoys looking at himself in the mirror. Easily attached to the rail with the velcros. Definitely a must 5CrackedI thought this mirror was supposed to be safe and indestructible but it somehow cracked while my 11 month old played with it. 1Great product...slight issue with the edgingOverall this mirror is an excellent developmental product. The mirror is not distorted, it's easy to clean, doesn't scratch easily, is large yet lightweight, and the velcro system makes it easy to attach to and remove from (in case of medical emergency)our hospital cribs. The only issue we are having is that in some of the mirrors the white edging is separating from the mirror. It has not happened to all of them and it appears to be an issue with the glue. I would highly encourage Genius Babies to revise the type of glue being used because that's the only think keeping my review from being 10 stars!Edited to add: I spoke with Genius Babies and they stated that they use non-stick tape to minimize the toxin exposure created by stronger glues. Overall, their customer service department was wonderful 4Fun mirror, bad strapsThe mirror itself is the perfect size for playing in the crib and my little boy loves it. I did, however, take issue with the straps sent to secure it. Maybe I'm overthinking or possibly just not smart enough to figure it out, but they make no sense to me. And the holes on the mirror aren't big enough to use something else. I currently have rigged it up until I can figure out something better. 4Clear reflection but squashed fatter shorter so does indeed have some distortionThe reflection is very clear, however I can't understand why the previous reviewers all said that there's no distortion. I kind of wondered about the photo that a previous reviewer posted of her baby looking at a reflection because in that photo the head looked fatter and shorter and I couldn't tell if it was my imagination.Upon receiving the actual product, I can confirm that there is definitely distortion! If you prop this mirror up in front of your real glass bathroom mirror, it is extremely obvious that this mirror shows a fatter and shorter image.If you're willing to have your baby or toddler view a slightly squashed reflection of him/herself, this is a decent choice that is better than most of what's out there.I really wanted a mirror with a true to life reflection so I'm returning this mirror and continuing my hunt. 2Big durable mirrorI was hesitant to buy this for my daughter to use at home because of the size. It just sounds so huge compared to all the other cute baby mirrors. And it is - in comparison. But now that we've had it for a while and my daughter has played with it, I have no issue with the size. It's big enough for her to crawl up to and see her whole body or, her favorite, look at me sitting behind her. It's very sturdy. I've found my now 9 month old sitting and standing on it frequently - no cracks yet. It does have some cute designs on the back, but my daughter doesn't really care about them.Update 2 years later: Still love it. Or I did. After much abuse from a grown toddler, a corner finally broke off. And when I say much abuse, I really mean it. That thing went through a lot of use and misuse. The white edging was the first to come off. I ended up taping it in place. Eventually, dropkicks and tantrum throws brought it to an end. Now that I have another little one, I am definitely buying another. Absolutely recommend this mirror. 5Holy crap in a hatHoly crap in a hat, my daughter thinks this is the best thing ever! She spends positively hours talking with the Mirror Baby and they wave their hands at each other. They got into a fight over the leaked audio's implications for the coming election and refused to look at each other for half a day, but as I type, they seem to have worked out their differences.Pros:Entertains the kidIf you Velcro it next to the changing table, she chats with Mirror Baby instead of shrieking like a banshee at changing timeEasy to cleanCons:Only has four Velcros and those are on the two widest sidesMirror Baby tends to be of the exact opposite alignment to your baby. Since she got a Lawful Evil, it looks like the kid is Chaotic GoodIf the cat looks into it, you can sometimes see a parallel universe 5Such a great size for babySuch a great size for baby. This mirror makes tummy time so much more bearable. The tiny mirrors ubiquitous on baby toys aren't big enough to give baby any idea of his face or movements. This one does. I think this mirror will follow baby into early childhood and be used for all kinds of things as we go from tummy time to drawing faces. 5
