Car doesn't change color!The color shifter car looked strange right from the start in the display window on the package. It was a peculiar peachy, cream color, but I just figured it was that way because it is a special car that changes color in warm and cold water. Guess what? Not so special!! It doesn't change color at all! Nothing under hot or ice cold water. Stays the same ugly, peachy color. Maybe because I bought this set on Amazon long after this series was sold in stores and the car's paint technology just went bad or maybe it was stored improperly by the seller. Either way, it was a loss of $23 for me! Even the actual playlet is a bit lame, not too exciting or easy to play with. It's a Hot Wheels bust and an Amazon bust! I don't really know who is at fault. Lesson learned, maybe it's no longer on store shelves for a reason. 1El mejor regalo de navidadEste es un excelente regalo para tu hijo si es ni o. No paraba de ver en tv el comercial. Amazon pendiente modificacion Gracias. 4Found Age Appropriate and Rec No WaterMy son (3) received this Santa this year and the look on his face was priceless when we got exactly what he asked for! The few things to know:1. water not required (nor would I recommend it). We have not even attempted it because I cannot justify wetting cars that aren t supposed to be. The set only came with one and it was nearly impossible to find others. So we made the decision for the kids to use their imagination! Lol2. The icy water area was rather challenging for my husband and I to get the cars out without some force, but with some effort and toddler energy, my son seems to have no issues! He pushes down hard and fast to get the cars to shoot out - and they do, right into the gator mouth, like the commercial.Enjoy! 5Disappointed the whole family - A big, boring MESSMy three-year-old earned this as a reward and we were all so excited to put it together and play with it. Assembly was great - Hot Wheels does a good job with their instructions and parts. But after spending about 15-20 minutes putting it together, we started playing with it and realized it's not fun -- just messy. There is no motor, so you're moving the car up a conveyer belt with a hand-crank and then removing it from water by pulling up a little platform. At each step, you have to manually move the car along the track. There's no continuous movement, which is a BIG disappointment for a little race car fan.My 3 yo and 7yo played with it for about 30 minutes before spilling the water everywhere and losing interest. I think they'd expected the cars would move throughout the track on their own and the "Gator" would actually chomp the cars. That would make sense, but that's not at all how our experience turned out. We've had much more fun with the Hot Wheels Criss-Cross Crash track set.We're a big Hot Wheels family, so this letdown was a surprise for us, and it certainly makes me leery about future Hot Wheels purchases. 2Great toy, best for ages 5 and up!I purchased this carwash set for my 3 1/2 year old, and absolutely loved playing with this set. That said, I had to ultimately return it because he still lacked the dexterity to operate the spinner component of the carwash (the blue reservoir where the car splash lands). He enjoyed turning the water tower faucet which fills the carwash "bath" with hot water, that turns the color changer cars' color. He also enjoyed operating the turn mechanism of the yellow dryer rollers. We used the toy indoors, and yet, a minimal amount of water escaped the toy and landed on the floor, but it was so easy to clean up with just a single paper towel. The toy has a removable dish that acts as a reservoir to catch water droplets and splashes. Anyway, I had to return because at 3 1/2 my son was not yet able to utilize the spinning device which holds the icy water to change the car color yet again. This was a main feature of the toy, and instead of him doing it, I always had to do this part, and also fish out the cars as they got stuck inside of it. Not fun...so, this was a deal breaker for me though I'm sure it would not have presented any problems for a slightly older child. Anyway, I still highly recommend the toy, as it's made well, has a great concept, and is a good quality standalone toy. One additional thing to beware of though is that the Color Changer cars cost more than $15 each!!! Yes, you can use your regular Hot Wheels cars on this, but they won't all fit. The Color Changer cars are slightly shorter than the others, and that leads to them getting stuck in the cold water reservoir mentioned earlier. It's easy enough for an older child to fish these out (though it's probably frustrating), but not a younger child. Anyway, just be prepared to shell out major $$$ to build up your Color Changer car inventory! 5Poor quality Broke after only after 1 hour of use. 1Only one car!Only one car comes with it despite the images making it seem like it comes with 5. The set is still cool, but I wouldn t have bought it if I knew it only came with one car. 1The directions matterMy kid loves this! Too bad it was a Christmas present and he hasn t been able to play much with the water in it. We put a towel down the first day so he could get the full experience. It is messy, but hey, it uses water.As for the reviews that the spinning part doesn t eject the cars... the water has a full line that is very hard to see. It s about two cups or so of water. If the water is below that line it doesn t work very well. However, once I filled it to the right level the water swirled and pushed the cars right out. 5Giant Gator Car WashThis is a huge set. The gator alone is massive, and the car wash is built on top of him. There are a number of fun play features such as the color charging car, water tanks, rollers, and a massive lift mechanism. The gator is really cool, but unfortunately, he doesn't really do anything. The set connects to other creature city attack sets. It's a bit surprising that a $70 set only comes with 1 car- I guess they really want to you buy those other sets. A problem I had was once we were done playing with it, it was difficult to take the set apart for storage. I did damage one piece while trying to take it apart, though I don't think it will affect future play.On a side note, this whole series is really bizarre. Why is the gator attacking a car wash? Why do cars keep going through the wash knowing they might be attacked? There's a whole city of monsters attacking reputable business. Why aren't the cars fleeing the city? My absolute favorite is the Scorpion playset. Cars go through a fast food drive thru and the scorpion literally flips cars into a fry basket. You can't get much better than that. 4UselessThis thing never worked the way it s supposed to. The shark mouth never closed and the pieces constantly came apart. And it s more appropriate for a toddler than a kindergartner. Didn t bother returning. 1
