    NiceYears ago I used a Dunlop Butterfly back in the '80s. This seems to work better for me. The construction appears to be a dowel rod glued into the center of both sides and then the whole unit turned true on a lathe. I didn't like the shipping as is usual with Amazon, a plastic bag with no manufacturer listed at the bottom of the box with that big bubble wrap on top of a shipment of a couple things. Also, not knowing anything, it doesn't sleep well after I retied the string after it broke; Yo-yo experts can probably tell people how to deal best with the center being wood. Good for the price. 5Not well madeJunk, arrived busted, need to go out and buy wood glue so my son whom was excited that the package arrived can play with this Yo-yo, he was very let down. I purchased this item based on the reviews. Would not buy again. Pictures speak for themselves. Buyer beware. 1The price was right!We bought a few of these yoyo's for our grandchildren and I wanted wood because plastic breaks too easily. My grandchildren are very happy with their yoyos and it makes a perfect gift for adults as well as children who are just starting out and learning tricks. I am very pleased with our purchases. 5Unbelievably good yoyo at twice the price!I just got this because it was wooden and cheap. I did not expect it to work very well, and boy was I wrong! This is a very nice and highly functional yoyo. It is heavier than a Duncan Imperial, Bumblebee, or even an Yomega Raider. It is Wood! Wooden caps, wooden axel, WOOD! It does not come apart. I am sure I could get it apart if I really wanted to, but I like it too much to try. It is very sturdy. I like it better than other wooden yoyos I own, as they get scratched when I walk the dog, and I fear them getting damaged or broken. That does not happen here. I am sure I can break this yoyo, but it wouldn't be easy, and I'd have to try to do it. It really could be an entry level yoyo for any user. It loops great, and yes I can do string tricks with it, which is amazing to me. It comes with one string attached. In my opinion, the best string for this yoyo is 100% cotton.ALWAYS BUY EXTRA STRING! 5I LOVE IT !I'm 23 and I never played with a yo-yo before. All I have been doing is using my money and buying things that I wish I had tried as a kid. for example, a skateboard, chess, a sword, and now a Yo-yo. Anyways, It took a while to learn how to use a yo-yo, like a week. I now know how to use one and I am very satisfied with how smooth it goes. I personally prefer wood becuase I love nature and it's like me playing with nature. I highly recommend this yo-yo to everyone of all ages. Even at work, it lets time go by fast, ofcourse. 5Very down to earth Yo-Yo.This wooden Yo-Yo is one of the few toys made in the USA that I could find in this category. The design is simple (almost looks like something one can make in their home garage) and works alright (not the best and smoothest but works). I bought a couple as these don't have any harmful chemicals - my kids developed allergy to toys made in China (literally), so am trying to keep them away from too much fun as health is more important. 4Wonderful yoyo for a childLet me start by saying, my daughter is 3.5 yrs. old, and all she wanted for Christmas was a yoyo. I searched all around of a yoyo that was NOT plastic and was affordable, without sacrificing our desire to buy USA made. This one fit the bill. I don't know how this one works for people looking to do tricks and such, but for a small child who just wants a yoyo, it's good enough. We shortened the string for her and she plays with it pretty much everyday. When we received it, at first we didn't see it in the box (shipped with another item, and of course it being just 2 days before Christmas, started freaking out!) It was packaged in a small clear plastic bag, and was hiding under one of those air pillows. The yoyo is the same color as the cardboard box, so make sure you dig though before calling customer service (which they were very helpful and understanding, and laughed with me when I did finally find it in the box) It's a simple yoyo and for the price, really can't be beat. 5Accurate Product-NameYou can't knock whoever listed this item - they tell you it's a plain wooden yo-yo and it is. But oftentimes no-frills is a good thing, because it means your item will never go out of style, unlike the many fad variations on it. 5Great Yo-Yo!This is a great quality Yo-Yo. I got it for my roommate/co-worker who was always taking our project's lead's Yo-Yo off his desk. Now he has his own, and he loves the natural look and feel. Very fun to throw down when you're thinking and/or bored. This is a beginner's Yo-Yo, however, and does not like to sleep and doesn't seem great if you desire to perform sweet Yo-Yo moves. Overall I am very satisfied with the purchase. 5Super fun, consistent, quality yoyo.Wonderful for looping tricks. So much fun, consistently responsive, has a nice feel in the hand, and has a respectable sleep time for a wooden one piece yoyo. I had a Newton wooden yoyo which came unglued and eventually the axle broke after about three weeks of heavy use. This yoyo is superior in every respect. I will probably buy more of them to give to my kids so they will stop borrowing mine. When the original string broke I replaced it with a quality cotton string. It plays like a dream. Love it. 5
