Wish I had it with my first childIt's a wonderful product for many reasons, one being that you can easily transfer a sleeping baby from one place to another without waking them. It soothes and calms a baby pretty fast. And for some fussy periods it is the only thing that works. It's machine washable and folds for travel. 5Truly effective, just needs a minor alterationWas torn between 4 & 5 stars... Really very brilliantly simple and effective... I knocked off 1 star because the handhold needs to be more comfortable to not rough up mother's hands, and also it's unclear how long I can safely use with baby who is just under 3 months old but wears 6 month clothes (product says can use up to 6 months in age, but nothing specific about weight or length of baby) 4Perfect purchase for colic babies!Literally a MUST HAVE purchase for babies with colic! Life was so much easier after we found out about the swaddle swing. Our witching hours were 3-4 hours every single night until we got this. She hated her car seat so we could not swing her in there, she was not a fan of her automatic swing, and our arms would get so tired from the swinging motion on our own. Such a life saver! 5This thing calms our fussy baby 100% of the time we use it.Our baby is much more "vocal" when she's fussy these last 2 months. (she's 4 months old today) Without fail, the Swingpod has soothed her down for ultimate rage mode 100% of the time we've ever used it. I would say the average Swing time is about 5 minutes from start to finish from super angry fussy witching mode, to nearly asleep or fully asleep. We try not to let her fully fall asleep in it, because we want her to actually do that in her crib/bassinet on her own. I will say that the handles are not super comfortable on the hands. At 4 months our baby is about 13ish lbs and you definitely feel those straps dig into your fingers and palms.. BUT - the pros FAR OUTWEIGH the cons.. There are solutions in place.. I simply use selt-belt padding wrapped around the handles - Far more comfortable to hold.You can simply use a small hand towel as well.. I've found the most stable and comfortable position for ME to operate the swing is the Kettlebell swing. I spread my feet a part and hold the straps with BOTH hands... and swing the baby between my legs.. It's much more sustainable on the hands/arms/back and i'm much more balanced for nice big swings - which my daughter LOVES. It doesn't matter what time of the day we have tried, there is NO tool we have for calming that has worked 100% of the time - except this frekkin hand swing! Best baby kit we've purchased yet.. 5More than a necessity. Ignore strap complaints.This is a hidden gem and a must have. How this isn t on every mommy blog is a testament to the fraudulent and bogus nature of those so-called review sites.Not just for colic, this product will gently rock your newborn or infant to sleep in a minute tops. For those of you complaining about the strap - give me a break. It s $20 bucks and could easily be sold for more than twice the price.Use some ingenuity, for the love of God. A neoprene luggage handle wrap, a ragged piece of cloth, a glove. If it s that much of an inconvenience...what an enchanted life you re leading. 5Didn t work for us2 stars is because my friend RAVED about it to me. For us sadly it didn t work. My baby isn t a big swaddle fan anyway so this could be why. She is 10 weeks and I find that she grows in and out of liking things so maybe she will like later. 2Not Perfect but Very UsefulThis was a big help in getting us through a rough few weeks when we were figuring naps out after I went back to work. It isn t going to be a good fit for everyone; you need good balance, upper body strength, and a baby that wants to be snug and swinging. It worked a lot better than our traditional swing at calming her down when she was hysterical. But we had to stop using it way before the listed limits mostly for our comfort and not hers, if you had nicely developed shoulders you should be ok ;) We stopped using it around 16 or 17 pounds. Swinging it in one hand and holding on to a door frame with the other let us comfortably go for 10-15minutes which was all it took to get her to drop off. It is very well made and I never worried about my daughter spilling out of it. My only real complaint is the Velcro which secures it; it s very strong but also suuuuper loud when you re undoing it, which defeats the whole purpose if you then wake the baby back up. If she really needed the nap and I didn t want to risk it I just let her sleep strapped in; it s basically a swaddle so it was comfortable for her but I worried about the holding straps being loose whenever I put her down in it. I just kept a close eye on her and it was fine, but if it would stress you and you have a light sleeper, maybe try something else first. Although I found the price well worth it from a try-it-and-see perspective. 5My go-to shower giftI purchased this for my cousin even though it was not on her registry. It is something that I received as a gift for my (now 9 month old) son. This was a life saver! We started using it when he was about 1 month old and could not calm him down to sleep. It became one of the only things that would calm down my colicky baby. It was also great that it was something his dad could do to help calm him so it was just me and nursing. 5I fell in love!!! Again!!!Ok, so I got this originally to swing/rock baby to sleep...needless to say it works perfectly!!!At first I was freaking out of my mind... and hubby said I was never going to put his baby in there... but after a couple of sleepless nights ... we turned to this... and like magic... PUUUUF!!!Baby was sound asleep!!!looooooved the idea and how well it is built... but my baby at 8lbs was a bit loosey goosey ... nothing a blanket couldn't fill... overall ... highly recommended!!! 5TKO your babyThe swaddle swing was such a great tool to have when the baby wouldn't be settled. It put the baby pretty much straight to sleep for several weeks! It's great for short walks if you don't feel comfortable babywearing yet. The straps are a little harsh on your hands, so it's helpful to wrap something around them.Unfortunately my giant baby outgrew it wayyyy too quickly, so it was only useful for about 2 months instead of 6 :( 5
